Volunteering for Hart County Humane Society

Volunteering at HCHS is a very rewarding experience. You will be doing a lot to help the plight of unwanted pets in the Hart / Franklin Counties.

Volunteer Opportunities

Kennel Assistant

Dog with leash wanting to go on a walk

The Kennel Assistant volunteers to care for the dogs at the sanctuary. This includes walking, feeding, medicating and perhaps grooming. The best part is playing with or just sitting with and petting the dogs in our care.

Our dogs are cared for three times a day. There is a morning feeding and walk, there is a lengthy noon or early afternoon walk, and there is walking and tucking in the dogs at the end of the day.

This level of care is very, very high for a rescue, so we appreciate you for volunteering to help a session or two / week.

Days: All days of the week are available. We are a 365 day / year operation.
Times: Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.

Cat Volunteer

We need volunteers to help with cats. This includes feeding, bottle feeding of kittens, socializing with cats, and yes, some litter box work.

Days: We have shifts every day of the week. We are a 7 day operation
Times: 9:00 - 1:00 in Hartwell at the Sanctuary. Times vary in our PetSmart locations in Seneca and Anderson
